Experience Counts

Shockwave success is built on listening to customers and solid design, engineering and manufacturing principles based on experience and testing.

We believe the best solutions are the simplest and most cost effective.

We are avid boaters and spend many hours testing and refining our products with leading shock mitigation technology as our driving goal.

Where the Rubber Meets the Road

Shockwave roots are in the competitive world of NASCAR chassis design. Company President David Smith has 45 years experience in suspension design and marine fabrication.

After constructing an aluminum boat to travel from his home in Victoria BC Canada to Alaska in 2002 he realized that there was a need for a suspension system to prevent injury and fatigue from long hours at the helm.

Shockwave was an instant success and David's extensive chassis knowledge has been pushing the boundaries of shock mitigation every since.

Our basic principles for the design of our products are to keep them simple, robust, easy to maintain, cost effective, lightweight and compact as possible while providing the latest technologies where it counts. Where it counts is in the design of the seat and upholstery and the efficiency of the suspension system. These two key components, are as we say are “Where the rubber meets the road.

Of course one man doesn't do this alone. Shockwave's team of engineers, customer support and production staff are second to none. Most of these people are avid boaters as well and play an integral part of the development of Shockwave products.

8000 Miles in the Danger Zone

The Shockwave 11M test rib became the first ever RIB through the treacherous Northwest Passage from the East Coast of Canada to the West Coast of Canada.

The gave us a lot of time for testing and evaluation. Places like the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea and the North Atlantic are not friendly to small open boats. This trip would have been impossible without the advanced shock mitigation of the Shockwave seats.

Shock Mitigation is Our Passion

We live and breathe shock mitigation on water and on land. When our shock manufacturer, FOX designed a new suspension system for the Ford Raptor we had to try one out. We ended up using the same type of bypass shock absorber for our ICE console.
