SHOCKWAVE MOTORSPORTS GETS A FRESH LOOK
Coming off early successes in the 2018 season on the Trans-Am Pirelli series, Shockwave Motorsports has created a new race car design to be launched at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Weekend on June 17th.
“Racing and innovating have always been part of the philosophy with Shockwave,” says David Smith, Shockwave Motorsports driver and founder of SHOCKWAVE Marine Suspension Seating. “I’m really looking forward to getting the Shockwave S5 car out on the track for this race.”
Smith, who placed 6th in Sonoma earlier this month, is known for pushing boundaries in his personal and professional career. The new design reflects his company branding as well as his passion for racing.
“It looks sexy. I love the reds and how it looks when the car is tearing down the track!”
Supported by a great team, Smith is poised to make a splash in Indianapolis.
“There’s something invigorating about being behind the wheel of a fresh, fast car,” laughs Smith. “It reminds me of being at the track for the first time in NASCAR nearly 50 years ago!”
At 68-years-old, Smith is one of the oldest drivers on the circuit – but don’t let that fool you. Smith is a contender, and with energy behind the new car he is excited to push things to the next level on Sunday.
