Cleaning & Maintenance of your S5 Suspension Base
- Using a soft cloth, wipe all surfaces of the S5 Suspension Base with fresh water. Open deck boats can hose off the suspension bases if needed.
- Allow to dry
- Spray LPS1, SaltAway (or equivalent) corrosion inhibitor on terry or microfiber cloth and wipe all metallic and painted surfaces and hardware.
- Ensure all areas surrounding bolt heads and nuts are thoroughly cleaned and lubricated to decrease chance of corrosion
- Gently wipe shock shaft with a thin layer of LPS1, SaltAway (or equivalent) corrosion inhibitor. Clean off excess to avoid particulate from sticking to the shock shaft during operations.
- All accessories (slide, swivel slide) can have LPS1, SaltAway or equivalent applied.
- Application of LPS1/SaltAway should occur after every trip or once every 30 days.
- Wipe Corbin2 or S5 Seats with Marine grade upholstery cleaner.
- *Optional: All bolt heads and nuts can be coated with LPS3 if desired for added corrosion resistance.
LPS1, SaltAway and LPS3 are the products that we recommend to use. If you cannot find them, please use an equivalent.
Shockwave Leak Test Procedure
- Begin by ensuring the shock is fully pressurized.
- Use Windex or a soapy water solution to determine where the leak is occurring. Spray liberally over the entire air system. Access to the entire air system requires theremoval of the rear cover.
- If the chair is equipped with a Protune armrest assembly, ensure the components within the armrest weldment are sprayed.
- Bubbles will form where the leak is occurring. The usual suspects are the Shrader valve where the pump attaches to fill the shock and the threaded fittings of the hose that connects the shock to the armrest or reservoir tank. Ensure that the entire length of the hose is sprayed and monitored.
- Tighten all accessible joints and valves with a quarter turn. Should the leak persist, remove components and inspect O-rings. Apply sealant/Loctite when reinstalling components.
- Once you have determined what part is defective and unrepairable, we will begin the process of supplying a new part.
