S2 Suspension Module for Race Boats

SW-05217

The S2 Racing Suspension Module allows race boat designers to take advantage of Shockwave premium suspension performance in custom applications using their own rear-mounted seats.

This is a high-performance suspension unit for intense use, equipped with a 6” (200mm) travel FOX Float H2O shock made by Fox Defense. A key feature is the progressive spring rate of the shock which causes it to stiffen up as the stroke increases. The suspension is designed to handle accelerations up to 10 times that of gravity with an occupant up to the 95th percentile male in weight. The linear guide suspension design won’t bind during off-axis wave impact which can be key for off-shore races.

The air-sprung shock allows users to tune the suspension so that the travel is limited to what will work for each specific boat and installation. The suspension module can be deck or bulkhead mounted to allow for many installation options. The suspension module carriage offers a number of different bolt pattern options for seat mounting. The suspension module includes a rubber bump stop at the base which protects the user in case of the unlikely event of decompression so that the suspension will not bottom out.

Shockwave has been making marine suspension products for over 20 years and our constant desire to improve and refine our products is evident in the performance of the S2 Racing Suspension Module.

The S2 Suspension for Race Boats is available with or without a deck mount.

Testing under real-life conditions

To understand exactly how our products perform, we put them to the test in some of the toughest conditions on earth. In 2010, Shockwave president David Smith completed an 8000-mile journey using Shockwave technology. He took an 11-meter open-hull RIB from St. John’s, Newfoundland, over Canada through the Arctic Circle and the Northwest Passage, around Alaska and back home to Victoria, BC.

excellent support

We provide direct support in person, on the phone or over email as required or requested. We also have technical engineering support available to travel in person to help with installation training or other requirements as they arise. Real humans helping real people.

Shockwave Product testing

Computer Design & Structural Verification

We test all of our products expansively on and off the water, using the latest software, equipment and test boats. Moreover, we use custom built equipment to tune and test our products for the specific needs of the marine environment. While we test and measure our components and seats in related environments, we also use a number of other in-house analytic and testing methods to ensure absolute safety and ultimate performance.
